Ruth as type of the nations; Moabitess and the law§1

1And the name of the second was Ruth. Ruth bears the type of the nations: she left her ancestral ways and was joined to Israel's manner of life.

Yet one must ask how Ruth, a Moabitess, entered when the law forbids a Moabite to enter the assembly of God. Inquiring into this, apply the saying: "The law is not laid down for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious."
