Matthew 1:16
Matthew does not say “through whom” (Matthew 1:16) he was born, but “out of whom.” (Galatians 4:4) That overthrows Apollinaris, who claimed Christ passed through the virgin as through a tube and took nothing from her.
The evangelist says Jesus was born not through her but out of her — that is, from her all-holy blood. The apostle speaks the same way: “God sent his Son, born of a woman,” not through a woman.

Τὸ δὲ μὴ εἰπεῖν δι' ἧς ἐγεννήθη ἴσως, ἀλλὰ ἐξ ἧς, ἀνατρέπει τὴν αἵρεσιν Ἀπολιναρίου λέγοντος ὡς διὰ σωλῆνος τῆς παρθένου τὸν Χριστὸν διελθεῖν καὶ μηδὲν ἐξ αὐτῆς προσλαβεῖν. ὁ γὰρ εὐαγγελιστὴς οὐ δι' αὐτῆς φησι γεννηθῆναι τὸν Ἰησοῦν, ἀλλ' ἐξ αὐτῆς, τοῦτ' ἔστιν ἐκ τῶν πανάγνων αὐτῆς αἱμάτων· τοιοῦτον καὶ τὸ τοῦ ἀποστόλου· "ἀπέστειλε" γάρ φησιν "ὁ θεὸς τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ, γενόμενον ἐκ γυναικός", ἀλλ' οὐ διὰ γυναικός.
