Matthew 12:38

“Since the signs that have happened,” (Matthew 12:38) they say, “were of demons, who produce appearances only on earth, you too make a sign from heaven by your own power.” (Mark 8:11) Another evangelist said clearly that they were asking him to make a sign “from heaven,” which it was fitting for divine power to do. They said this as if he could not do anything God-befitting, blind in mind — for opening blind eyes, raising the dead, and rebuking sea and winds belong to God-befitting authority alone.
