The Fullness of Wisdom and Power

He possesses what is powerful and wise. For as God, He is not so powerful and wise as one who has nothing more beautiful or less within himself, such as power and wisdom filled with power and full of wisdom, being entirely the most perfect; and for this reason, He does not have power and wisdom filling him, but rather possesses a fullness proceeding from himself.

Just as Solomon calls wisdom offspring and presents self-wisdom having come to him from God, he teaches that because the creatures came to be through wisdom, the generator of wisdom is something greater than the creation of itself. To this, the long-standing excellence of the relation to the works, having ascended far above that which accompanies the creator, was fitting, since it is impossible to conceive of anything greater than the greatest; so that what is perceived as the greatest is that all things have come forth from the relation to the works, and this concerns the Father of wisdom and power.

And so great is His strength and understanding, as being from Him and with Him as offspring, fruit, and son, not as having happened in Him, concerning which it has been said, 'Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God' (1 Cor 1:24). And since wisdom is the power itself, having a synonymy with understanding, in which He made the heaven according to what was said—He who made the heaven in understanding—so that His strength and understanding are great, the understanding of God is unsearchable and countless, whence it is written, 'O depth of riches and wisdom' (Rom 11:33).
