Justin Martyr, Dialogue with Trypho 80
Trypho responded, "I told you, my friend, that you strive to make your position secure in every way by intertwining yourself with the Scriptures. But tell me this: do you truly confess that this place Jerusalem will be rebuilt, and that your people will be gathered and will rejoice with the Christ, together with the patriarchs, the prophets, and the saints of our race—or even those proselytes who converted before your Christ came? Do you expect this, or did you only agree to confess these things so that you might appear to overcome us in these debates?" I answered, "I am not so foolish, Trypho, as to say things other than what I actually think. I have already confessed to you that I and many others hold this view, fully convinced that it will certainly happen. Yet I also made it clear to you that many who are pure and pious Christians do not share this knowledge. I pointed out to you that those who are called Christians but are actually atheists and impious heretics teach things that are blasphemous, godless, and senseless."
"You know from all the words that have passed between us, as far as my ability allows, that I am not saying these things only about you. I will compile an account in which I will also write, confessing these very things that I now confess to you. For I choose to follow not human teachings more than divine ones, but God and the teachings that come from Him. Even if you have encountered some so-called Christians who do not confess these things, but even dare to blaspheme the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—who also say there is no resurrection of the dead, but that their souls are taken up into heaven the moment they die—do not suppose them to be Christians. Just as, if someone examines the matter correctly, they would not acknowledge the Sadducees or similar sects of Genistae, Meristae, Galilaeans, Hellenians, Pharisees, and Baptists to be true Jews—(please do not be annoyed at hearing all that I think and say)—but only so-called Jews and children of Abraham who confess God with their lips, as God Himself has cried out, yet have their hearts far from Him."
"But as for me, and any who are orthodox Christians in every respect, we know that there will be a resurrection of the flesh, and that Jerusalem will be built, adorned, and enlarged for a thousand years, just as the prophets Ezekiel and Isaiah and the others confess." (Ezekiel; Isaiah)
